Generation Development Forecasts

GROSS POWER DEMAND FORECAST

The country's gross power demand forecast is a sum of the final demand forecasts (public sector and household) plus forecasts of transmission and distribution losses and auxiliary load losses. It is presented in two scenarios minimum and maximum.

The forecast is characterized by smaller initial annual growths in power demand with gradual increase until 2020.

In view of the future electricity demand in the country and replacement of decommissioned capacities, there would be a need for new generation plants. The timing of their ommissioning is determined by the least cost development plan of the Bulgarian power system.
